One-of-a-kind silver, carved from wax and cast in small batches. Funny shapes, honest marks — jewellery that looks like it was made by someone, because it was.
Each piece begins as a sketch, becomes wax in the hand, and ends as something you can wear for a lifetime.
Studio Askew is a one-maker workshop. There's no production line and no two pieces quite the same — every ring and pendant is carved, cast and finished by hand, in small enough numbers to care about each one.
Curiosity does the designing. New stones, odd shapes, techniques learned as they go — it all finds its way into the work.
A rotating handful of what's been on the bench. Pieces sell as one-offs — see something you love and say hello.

Jewellery should feel like it has a life before you, and a life after.— Studio Askew
No shortcuts and no moulds bought in. A piece is drawn out, carved in wax by hand, then cast in recycled silver and finished at the bench. The marks of making are left to show — that's the point.

Ideas start on paper — proportions, stones, the little details. Here, an 18ct band scattered with brilliant-cut rubies.

The design is cut and shaped from carving wax, stones set into the model — the whole piece made real before any metal is poured.

Tried on, adjusted, then cast in recycled silver and finished by hand — ready to be worn, and worn in.
Studio Askew is the work of one Nottingham maker with a soft spot for custom pieces, funny shapes and learning something new with every commission. Stained fingers, a wax pen, a tray of stones waiting for the right home.
The pieces are deliberately a little off-centre — askew — because the most interesting jewellery rarely comes out perfectly straight. That's where the character lives.
— with love, from the bench
Cast in 100% recycled sterling — kinder, and just as beautiful.
Drawn, carved and finished one at a time at the bench in Nottingham.
Assayed and hallmarked where required, so you know exactly what you're wearing.
Every order arrives boxed and wrapped, ready to give — or to keep.
Commissions are open. Bring an idea, a stone, a feeling — even a rough scribble — and we'll carve it into something that's only yours.
Tell me what you're dreaming up — a message or an email is plenty to start.
I'll sketch options, suggest stones and metals, and agree a price before anything is made.
Your piece is carved in wax, approved, then cast and finished — usually in three to five weeks.
